1. What is this program all about?
Access to a library of free online CPE courses is provided absolutely free to all CPAs that (1) apply for the FreeCPE credit card from UMB Bank, n.a. and are approved; (2) use the new card for at least one purchase, balance transfer or cash advance transaction that posts to the account within 30 days of the account open date; and (3) use the new card at least once annually thereafter.*

2. I already have another CPA society or association credit card. Are all CPA affinity cards eligible?
No, only the CPAdirectory FreeCPE credit card from UMB Bank, n.a. provides access to these CPE courses for free. The benefit is being provided through CPAdirectory.com, Inc.* Only the FreeCPE card currently offers the benefit of access to free CPE.

3. How do I obtain access to these courses after I receive my card?
After you have received your credit card, simply make your first purchase, balance transfer or cash advance transaction in any amount within 30 days of the account opening, then you must contact us to request your username and password so you can access the library of free online CPE courses.

4. Are courses NASBA- and QAS-approved? Are the credits accepted in my state?
CPE requirements and approval varies from state to state. In some states online self-study courses are treated differently than live seminars. Since so many courses are being offered by different CPE providers, the following links will help you determine which courses are accepted for credit in your state by those providers.

7. How do I apply?

8. Can I apply over the phone?
Unfortunately, not at this time.

9. When I apply for the card, will my transaction be secure?
Yes. Your application will be transmitted to UMB through an encrypted security page.

10. How does the rewards program work?
Simply use your card for your everyday purchases and receive 1 point for every dollar spent. You can earn Bonus Rewards points of up to 15 points per dollar when shopping at the participating retailers listed on rewards.umb.com:
  • To earn Bonus Rewards points shopping in-store, make sure you use your card for all your purchases. An up-to-date and complete list of participating retailers can always be located on the Bonus Rewards Website.
  • To earn Bonus Rewards points for online purchases, you must access participating retailers through the Bonus Rewards Website and use the link provided to make your purchases. If you do not use the link to shop, you will not earn Bonus Rewards points on your transactions.
Your earned points will automatically be credited to your Rewards Points account and can be found on your monthly statement.

11. What can I redeem for with my points earned?
You can redeem your points for name-brand merchandise, gift cards, travel, event tickets and activities. For more information about redemptions options, please visit rewards.umb.com for more details.

12. Do my points expire?
Points expire after 5 years. For more information on Program Rules, please see the Rewards Program Rules disclosure that will accompany your card.

13. How do I redeem my points?
Simply go to online redemptions site at rewards.umb.com to redeem your points.

14. If I have another question about Bonus Rewards not listed above, who can I contact?
